Summer Workshops at Williams & Parfitt
We are thrilled to announce our programme of summer workshops, running Thursday evenings right here at Williams & Parfitt across the summer.
Most of our workshops are led by our own fantastic vendors, the creative people you'll already know from the shop floor, and that's exactly what makes this series special. These are people who know their craft inside out, and now they're sharing it.
Each evening runs after closing time, giving you exclusive access to the shop floor in a way that's a little different to your usual visit. You'll spend your evening surrounded by antiques, interiors and inspiration, with Coppers open and serving hot drinks throughout.
Spaces are limited, and booking is directly with each organiser. Details for each workshop will follow in individual posts, but here's what's coming up:
Make a Sign Workshop with Argent & Sable
Thursday 25th June, 6 to 9pm

Our summer workshop programme kicks off on Thursday 25th June with a hands-on evening that asks one simple question: words matter, what would yours say?
Artist and signwriter Danielle Neale of Argent & Sable is coming to the shop floor at Williams & Parfitt to lead a make a sign workshop unlike anything we've hosted before. You'll design and create your own hand-painted sign across the evening, choosing a word that means something to you and bringing it to life under Danielle's guidance.
No experience necessary. Just a love of words and the joy of making. All materials and guidance are provided on the night.
This is a small group session, limited to just 10 places, so it will be an intimate and properly guided experience rather than a drop-in class. Previous attendees have called it "a gorgeous evening" that left them feeling reset, which sounds like exactly the right way to spend a Thursday.
Coppers will be open serving hot drinks throughout the evening.

Antiques & Me with Phil from Cloverleaf Home Interiors

This one is going to be a brilliant evening.
Phil from Cloverleaf Home Interiors is taking to the floor for an evening that is part talk, part game show and part Q&A, and if you have ever been curious about how someone actually builds a life in the antiques trade, this is your chance to find out.
The evening splits into two halves. Phil starts with his story before the trade, the journey that brought him to antiques in the first place, and then moves into his experience of the trade itself, the finds, the characters, the lessons and no doubt a few good stories along the way.
Then comes the fun part. Phil will be bringing in a selection of items for a live quiz. Your job is to guess the function, the age and the price. Easier said than done, but that is rather the point.
The evening closes with an open Q&A, so bring your questions.
Phil is laying on nibbles, beer and wine, and Coppers will be on hand serving hot drinks. It is shaping up to be one of the most entertaining evenings of the summer series.
A suggested donation of £2 to St Martins Housing Trust would be very much appreciated on the night.

Terrarium Workshop with Leslie Terrance Plant Shop

If you love plants, creative evenings and a relaxed night out, this one is for you.
Kerri from Leslie Terrance Plant Shop is bringing a terrarium workshop to the Williams & Parfitt shop floor on Thursday 30th July, and it's shaping up to be one of the most enjoyable evenings of the summer. You'll be guided through the steps to create your own terrarium, and then the evening is yours. Browse the shop, natter, eat, drink, and come back to your terrarium as you please. No pressure, no rush.
Coppers will be serving drinks throughout, and Swirl Norwich cinnamon buns will be on hand too. Your ticket includes one drink and one Swirl bun, with extras available to purchase on the night. The shop will be open for browsing and sales during the evening, and plants will be available to take home alongside your finished terrarium.
This is a genuinely lovely combination: creativity, good food and drink, lifestyle shopping and plants, all under one roof after hours. Spaces are limited.
Woodland Painting Workshop with Debbie Storey

Join Debbie for a relaxed and inspiring evening of acrylic painting at Williams & Parfitt.
Perfect for beginners and improvers, you'll create your own atmospheric woodland scene on canvas across the evening, learning simple techniques to add depth, perspective and light to your work. Debbie guides you through every step, so you'll leave with a finished artwork to be proud of.
Everything you need is provided on the night, including easels and acrylic paints. You just need to turn up.
Spaces are limited and booking is essential.
Japanese Sashiko Taster Workshop
Thursday 13th August, 6.30 to 9pm

Come along and experience a glimpse into the world of Japanese Sashiko, a beautiful and meditative form of decorative stitching with a history stretching back centuries.
In this workshop you will create a Japanese Zokin, a traditional cleaning cloth, using upcycled Japanese fabrics, Sashiko thread and Sashiko needles. No experience needed. Just come ready to slow down, stitch and enjoy the calm that comes with it.
