A pair of vintage display crowns commemorating the coronation of King George VI in May 1937. Modelled on the Tudor Crown, also known as the King's Crown, each features decorative arches lined with simulated pearls, crosses pattée, fleur-de-lis and a crimson cap. The base is finished with an ermine-patterned rim.
Made as decorative coronation props, crowns of this type were used to adorn shopfronts, streets and public buildings across Britain during the 1937 celebrations. An unusual pair of royal commemoratives, ideal for collectors of coronation memorabilia and royal history.
