Tribal Pleated Skirt, Framed Circular Textile Artwork 'Bleached & Dyed'

A large scale framed antique tribal pleated skirt, likely of Miao origin. The handwoven textile features a decorative woven border surrounding a finely pleated centre, which has been bleached and hand dyed in shades of indigo blue and black to create a striking radial design.

The textile is mounted on a plain canvas backing and presented in a glazed box frame, allowing the pleated construction and texture to be displayed. It is inscribed 3/2 Bleached & Dyed in the lower left, and bears an unidentifiable pencil signature to the lower right.
