Vintage Rival Green Painted Dolly Tub Planter, Galvanised Steel Wash Tub

This vintage corrugated galvanized steel dolly tub has been repainted in a classic forest green while retaining its original rustic character. It is stamped Rival to the base, a well-known manufacturer of traditional galvanised household wares.

Originally used for hand washing clothes, the corrugated sides provided extra strength and helped agitate laundry when used with a wooden dolly. Drainage holes have been added to the base, so it is no longer watertight but is ready to use as a planter. The tapered shape, reinforced rims and weathered finish also make it ideal as a decorative garden feature or log basket.

As this is a vintage item, signs of age, wear and historic use are to be expected and form part of its character.
