An original early 20th-century oil on canvas still life painting depicting a tall arrangement of yellow, burgundy and purple irises in a dark green glass vase.

The flowers are painted with textured impasto brushwork, giving the petals depth against the warm brown background. The composition uses rich tones of golden yellow, deep plum, muted green and violet.

Signed Marcel Gilly, with a date appearing to read 1932.
