Windsor Chairs, Elm and Yew, Pair

A matched pair of antique English Windsor armchairs, constructed from yew wood and elm with a classic hoop-back design.

Each chair features a decorative pierced splat with heart-shaped cutouts, surrounded by slender turned spindles and curved, outswept arms. The solid elm saddle seats have a contoured shape and prominent natural grain.

The chairs stand on splayed, ring-turned legs joined by a sturdy stretcher assembly. Their warm, dark amber finish highlights the grain and character of the aged wood.
