A large cylindrical toleware tea canister with a distressed reddish-brown finish and an aged patina. The surface is decorated with chinoiserie-style artwork depicting a flying bird above an Asian-inspired landscape with pagodas and foliage. Decorative geometric borders, including a Greek key motif, adorn the shoulders and lid. The worn finish and painted decoration give this piece plenty of character, making it an attractive decorative addition to a kitchen or interior.
