Olive Green Ceramic Amphora Vase with Twin Handles

This ceramic amphora vase has a classic ovoid shape that tapers to a narrow foot. A short neck rises to a rounded, slightly flared rim. Two strong loop handles sit on either side, running from just below the rim to the shoulder.

The vase carries a deep olive green glaze with brown tones and a soft sheen. Years of use have left chips, scuffs and areas of glaze loss that reveal the warm terracotta clay beneath. These marks appear across the body and around the rim, giving the piece an honest aged finish.

Fine incised decoration circles the neck and shoulder. Thin horizontal bands sit above a simple zigzag pattern pressed into the clay before glazing. These details add interest without taking away from the clean shape.

This is a well-made decorative vase with plenty of character. It works well as a standalone display piece or filled with dried flowers or branches. The combination of its traditional form, rich glaze and natural wear makes it a good example of rustic antique pottery.
