Chippendale revival mahogany mirror with gilded urn crest, carved fretwork, and oval plate in a rectangular frame
1/6

This Chippendale style mirror reflects the refined taste carried into the Regency period, when earlier Georgian designs were frequently revived. The frame uses mahogany or walnut with detailed fretwork and carving. A gilded urn or shell crowns the top, and gilt wood beading lines the mirror glass. The oval mirror plate sits inside a rectangular frame with carved spandrels at each corner. While the style began in the late 1700s, many Regency and later makers produced high-quality versions that follow the same design principles.
